Frequently asked questions

About us

What is Blueberry Bear Organics?

Organic & natural. Honestly labelled. We're Australia's organic and low-tox marketplace. Independent growers, makers, brands and shops list their products, and we sell a small range ourselves that ships direct from suppliers. You browse and order in one place.

What can I buy?

Pantry staples, tea and coffee, snacks, fresh food (local pickup or delivery), organic cotton clothing, baby and kids' clothing and basics, bedding and towels, beauty and body care, cleaning and household products, and gifts: organic, natural and low-tox, each with an honest label badge.

Can I buy right now?

Not yet. Checkout opens soon. Shop now items are real products pending supplier approval, the marketplace preview uses sample data, and no payments are processed.

How we label products

Is everything certified organic?

No. We sell organic plus natural and low-tox products, and every product carries one of three badges:

We never call a product certified or verified unless the certifier is named. Badges aren't health advice: if you have allergies or sensitivities, always check the full ingredient list on the product label. More on how we label products.

Organic and certification

Which certifiers can appear on a “Certified organic” badge?

Food: ACO Certification Ltd, NASAA, Southern Cross Certified (SXC), Organic Food Chain (OFC) and the Bio-Dynamic Research Institute (Demeter), usually certifying to the National Standard 3.8, AS 6000-2015 or the ACO Standard. Textiles: GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and Textile Exchange's Organic Content Standard (OCS 100 or OCS Blended), certified by an approved certification body. Cosmetics: COSMOS Organic or ACO-certified cosmetics. Certifiers we recognise.

What does GOTS mean on clothing or sheets?

GOTS certifies the whole textile chain, from fibre processing to the finished product. A GOTS “organic” label means at least 95% certified organic fibre; “made with organic materials” means at least 70%. It also sets rules for chemicals, wastewater and working conditions. Look for the certification body and licence number on the label.

And OCS?

The Organic Content Standard tracks certified organic material from farm to finished product. OCS 100 means at least 95% organic content; OCS Blended means at least 5%, so check the percentage. Unlike GOTS, OCS doesn't cover processing chemicals or social criteria.

Isn't “organic” always certified in Australia?

No. There's no mandatory domestic standard: food, clothing and cosmetics sold in Australia can be called organic without a certificate, as long as the claim isn't false or misleading under the Australian Consumer Law. Certification is only compulsory for organic food exports. That's why our badges separate certified organic (certifier named) from brand-labelled organic.

Do the rules differ between food, clothes and cosmetics?

Yes. Food must also meet the Food Standards Code labelling rules. Cosmetics must list ingredients under the Consumer Goods (Cosmetics) Information Standard 2020, and a product that claims to treat or prevent a condition is a therapeutic good regulated by the TGA, not a cosmetic. Textile claims are covered by the Australian Consumer Law and the ACCC's guidance on environmental claims. We list cosmetics with cosmetic claims only.

I've seen a NASAA logo. Is it still valid?

NASAA can appear as the certifier on a “Certified organic” badge. NASAA Certified Organic (NCO) stopped certifying in 2025 and many of its operators moved to other certifiers, so older packaging may still carry the logo. Where a seller has moved, we ask for the current certifier's name.

What if I think a product's label badge is wrong?

Email [email protected] or use the Contact page. We pause the listing within 24 hours of a credible report while we look into it.

Ordering and delivery (planned)

Where do you deliver?

Australia-wide. Shelf-stable food, clothing, bedding, body care and household goods are posted with Australia Post or a courier. Fresh, chilled and frozen food is local only, by pickup or seller delivery. Some items (for example honey, or fresh produce) can't be sent to WA, Tasmania or SA because of state quarantine rules; the cart tells you. See the Shipping policy.

What does “Ships direct from supplier” mean?

We sell these items ourselves, and the supplier posts them straight to you. The real products on Shop now are pending supplier approval: we'll only sell them once each supplier agrees to send orders for us.

Can I order from several shops at once?

Yes. Each shop has its own checkout and sends its part separately, so you may get more than one delivery, each with its own fee.

How do I pay?

By card, Apple Pay or Google Pay on a secure Stripe checkout page. We never see or store your full card details.

Problems and refunds

My order arrived damaged, faulty or wrong.

Email [email protected] as soon as you can, ideally within 48 hours for food, with your order number and a photo. You'll get a refund, replacement or repair where the product isn't of acceptable quality or doesn't match its description. See the Returns policy.

Can I return something because I changed my mind?

Food: generally no, for food-safety reasons. Unworn clothing, unused bedding and unopened body care: it depends on the seller or supplier, and the listing will say. This never affects your rights when something is faulty.

Nothing on this page excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including the consumer guarantees.
